The concept of “backward design” is definitely part of how I think about legal writing (same with “scaffolding”). I had forgotten about that term, though, which I haven’t heard since my year spent getting an MA in Education at the University of Michigan — an increasingly long time ago. Thank you for reactivating that dormant memory.
